Thierry Henry looking for a job

Former CF Montreal head coach Thierry Henry will have to find a job, as he was not retained by the new management group of the Belgian men’s soccer federation.

The Frenchman was at the end of his contract and it was not renewed by the Red Devils, confirmed the president and general manager of the selection, Peter Bossaerts. This presented Wednesday in a press briefing the new driver of the team, Domenico Tedesco.

On January 9, coach Roberto Martinez left Belgium to join Portugal. It was he who had brought Henry for a second stay with the Devils, before the Euro disputed in 2021.

The former striker was also part of the Spaniard’s staff from 2016 to 2018.

Appreciated by the players, the 45-year-old man was tipped as a good candidate to lead Belgium, somewhat in crisis since his elimination in the group stage at the World Cup in Qatar.

Henry succeeded Rémi Garde in Montreal in November 2019. After a single season at the helm of the team, still marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, he chose to step down in February 2021.

He maintained a record of nine wins, 16 losses and four draws in all competitions with the Bleu-Blanc-Noir.

The former FC Barcelona, Arsenal and New York Red Bulls star also led AS Monaco in 2018 and 2019.
