“They’re going to hate each other!”

Finished “We are live”, the talk show that Laurent Ruquier hosted on Saturday evenings, alongside Léa Salamé. Eager to take a step back and some time for himself, the daily host of “Grosses Têtes” on RTL as well as “Children of TV”, on Sunday on France 2, had thrown in the towel at the end of the season to hand over the keys to his box to his sidekick Léa Salamé, his former columnist on “We are not lying”. Today, place to “What a time!” a new cultural news program which will officially open its curtain on September 24th. If she is in charge of this new program, Léa Salamé surprised many people by wishing to place another famous animator at her side: Christophe Dechavanne. Far from the cameras in recent years, he had instead turned to the production of programs, such as “Bienvenue chez vous” on TF1 or shows like those of the “Age Tendre” tour bringing together the stars of the 1960s and 70s. . So the astonishment of his return to the screen, and on the public service moreover, was more than present in the media. And some predict the worst for the journalist…

“Léa Salamé is going to be eaten”

This question was notably debated this Saturday, September 10 on the set of “TPMP People” between Matthieu Delormeau and Laurent Fontaine, former emblematic host of the first channel. According to them, Christophe Dechavanne, presented as a “permanent guest” under the leadership of Léa Salamé, should soon oust him from his seat as “boss”.

“I’m already announcing to Léa Salamé that she’s going to be eaten”, swung Matthieu Delormeau, explaining that the journalist will simply say “hello” before her evening is “over”, quite simply because of the presence of the former host of “Ciel mon mardi” and “Coucou c’est nous”. Laurent Fontaine immediately agrees: “Dechavanne, you cannot co-host with him.” and specifies that the host, with whom he worked for six years, is an “anchorman” (presenter) who “is strong” when he is alone, and sometimes even has “difficulty sharing the antenna”. Convinced that the Dechavanne-Salamé association is already doomed to failure, Matthieu Delormeau announces that these two risk “hating each other as much as Laurent Ruquier and Christophe Dechavanne”.

“Léa will be the boss. I won’t be far from her”

Let’s bet that it will not be because as the 64-year-old host pointed out to the magazine “Télé-Loisirs” a few months ago: “Léa and I had not made any agreement before meeting. But the ‘thing’ went right away. It is extremely fluid. As if we had known each other for a long time. We laugh like hunchbacks. I hope that on the air, we will have the same relationships as in life…” he confided, cautious and enthusiastic before clearly specifying the roles of each: “Léa will be the boss. I won’t be far from her, with my temperament and my commitments.” Conclusions every Saturday evening, on France 2, from September 24!
