Two months before the first round, this movement is activated to rally as many elected officials as possible.
And Eduardo Rihan Cypel assures him: “There is a real movement. About 150 local elected officials, socialists or left-wing radicals, have just joined Territories of Progress in the past three weeks, like me.“explains the recent defector.
For the general delegate of this movement which embodies the left leg of the majority, Xavier Iacovelli, “these chosen ones do not want to stay in the Titanic Hidalgo and do not see a future in Taubira“. The senator from Hauts-de-Seine endorses the words of Jean-Yves Le Drian: “Social democracy has moved, it has left the PS“. And says he wants to believe that this movement, which began in 2017, will be confirmed in 2022.
Thus, several major socialist elected officials are targeted such as the former president of the National Assembly Claude Bartolone, or the mayor of Dijon, François Rebsamen, whose support is hardly in doubt.
Other elected officials are targeted such as the deputy mayor of Marseille Samia Ghali. Gaspard Gantzer also evokes Thierry Repentin, mayor of Chambéry, or that of Libourne, Philippe Buisson, “who could provide their support during the intervening period, when Emmanuel Macron will need to gather on the left”, analyzes the former adviser by Francois Hollande.
