The film “Arthur Rambo” will premiere this Tuesday evening in Amiens, at the Orson Welles cinema. The story of a successful writer who finds himself caught up in his activities as a cyberstalker. He sends dozens of insulting messages on social networks. A scourge that touches celebrities on the Internet, but also Mr. and Mrs. Everybody, and sometimes younger ones. 20% of children say they have been confronted with cyberbullying in their lives according to a 2021 Audirep study, a figure that is perhaps underestimated in the face of the difficulty of testifying for young people.
“There are a lot of weak signals, deciphers Guillaume Harent, in charge of the fight against harassment at the rectorate of Amiens. If the child sleeps less, if he eats less, if his grades drop… You have to talk to him about it, possibly ask his school about his behavior in class, often they don’t talk about it on their own.”
Cyberbullying can hurt young children, like Jennifer. In college, in the Oise, she is harassed by boys on her body. Jokes that turn into insults on social networks, once at home. “They don’t realize the harm they can do”, testifies today the young woman of 24 years. She found the strength to talk about it to a teacher, and preferred to change region, because the insults did not stop. “We’re trying to reduce you to nothingness” she testifies. Years that undermine Jennifer and prevent her from having a good dose of self-confidence. Today, she is pleased to have been able to bounce back, find her way and open an Instagram account which now has 5,000 subscribers.
