To escape the monotony of everyday life, the Stevnan and Gladel families have decided to go around the world on their boats, discover things and be amazed.
Many of them dream of it. A world tour by sailboat to live an adventure like no other. The Stevnan family left Toulon. They have already been sailing for two years with their two children and images in their eyes. The Gladels are beginning their journey. And both families have the same desire: to start a new life. Originally from Saint-Étienne (Loire), Alban, Alison and Amaury, 10, left a month ago aboard their monohull, the Karma, with no return date. Leave everything to find yourself better. “Me like my wife, we gave ourselves so much in the work, it had become a grip, a constraint”explains Alban Gladel.
On the boat, Amaury quickly found his marks with a rather spacious cabin. But for distance learning, it’s a bit more complicated: “I can’t do everything as they say.” This trip, they matured for four years. No room for improvisation. They first had to pass the boat license, then meteorological courses, sea rescue, how to repair a sail and deal with the elements.
For the moment, Éliane, Patrice and their two children have been sailing in distant lands for two years. Today, they are in Polynesia. They too have given up their jobs as financial director for him and nurse for her. They left to take the height on their daily life. They explored underwater wildlife, admired atolls, picked coconuts and admired breathtaking landscapes, like in Cape Verde. They have been to the end of their dreams.
