Images that are already shaking the royal family! This Thursday 1er December, the Netflix platform revealed the first trailer for the documentary series devoted to Meghan and Harry, directed by Liz Garbus, and which should be released in 6 episodes on December 8th. To a dramatic tune, never-before-seen black and bench photos of the couple appear. Then an image of the royal family, King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, William and Kate and, in the background… the Sussexes who appear unhappy and isolated. The tone is set. There follows a litany of clichés about the couple presenting themselves at the same time in their best light but also misunderstood… lonely. Poor desperate rich youngsters… The trailer ends with Meghan saying: “When the stakes are this high, shouldn’t we hear our side of the story?” This promises and must make people cough in the Royal Palace!

“I have never seen a pair of hypocrites like this”

Especially since the launch of this trailer comes at the very moment when William and Kate arrive on American soil, after eight years of absence. A calendar coincidence or just the desire to steal the spotlight from them in the United States where they have many supporters? Because what is certain is that this series is already seen with a very bad eye across the Channel, and not just by the Crown! The British, since the famous interview with Ophrah Winfrey, have turned away from this duo of terrible children. They are accused of tarnishing the image of the monarchy, while Elizabeth II died only three months ago. And social networks are racing in a torrent of rage: “A horrible self-centered couple who were so cruel to their own family (…) Ungrateful”, can we read on Netflix’s Twitter. Or again: “It’s disgusting. Not only is Netflix promoting a couple who’s been proven to be lying, it’s interfering with the Prince and Princess of Wales’ fantastic visit to Boston. (Meghan and Harry) can’t generate interest without using publicity and this is proof of that.” ; “I have never seen such a pair of hypocrites. King Charles should strike them off and withdraw all their royal privileges” also asserts another commentator on the social network. If this documentary is already unleashing all the criticism, what will happen on January 10, 2023, when Prince Harry’s memoir entitled “Spare” is published? The hatchet is far from being buried…
