The day after the Champions League final in Saint-Denis, videos were published on social networks. They are supposed to show the violence that took place around the Stade de France. While some are genuine, others have been taken out of context.
The violent clashes that broke out on Saturday in Saint-Denis tarnished the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Taking advantage of this context of tension, Twitter and Facebook accounts published, the next day, images supposed to show the incidents that took place on the spot, near the Stade de France. Difficult to sort out those related to the event and those that are not.
Among the shares, old videos resurfaced and were taken over to convey xenophobic messages.
Thus, images shot during a brawl between bands in 2018 in Garges-lès-Gonesse were thus misused and served to feed a racist argument.
