Harry Potter fans have been devastated by the news of Robbie Coltrane’s death. The actor who added throughout the films, the role of the flagship and mythical character, Rubbeus Hagrid, died at the age of 72. His agent, Belinda Wright, called him a “unique skill”and remembers him as “a loyal customer”. “As well as being a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent and brilliantly witty, and after 40 proud years of being called his agent, I will miss him”, she added concerning him in a press release. This disappearance is unfortunately one more that adds to a long line of actors and actresses who have marked the fantastic saga.
Like Anthony Robert McMillan, Helen McCory aka Narcissa Malfoy (mother of Harry Potter rival Draco Malfoy) died last year. In 2017, Robert Hardy (the first interpreter of Cornelius Fudge) and John Hurt (Ollivander, the seller of magic wands) left us. A year earlier, it was Alan Rickman, the dreaded Severus Snape who died of cancer. In his memoirs, the latter explained that he almost left the saga.
Other names like those of Richard Griffiths, the infamous Uncle Vernon (died in 2013) and Richard Harris, the first interpreter of the headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore have bereaved the Harry Potter family.
In our slideshow above, you will find other actors who have also disappeared…
