He will have entertained the lunchtimes of thousands of French people for more than thirty years. Jean-Pierre Pernaut died on Wednesday March 2, 2022 following a hospitalization which turned out to be a routine visit to the base.
According to our exclusive information revealed by a close source, the journalist had to undergo a heart operation. However, not everything went as planned as his health deteriorated rapidly. “Jean-Pierre fell into a coma during this intervention and, since that night, his relatives have been at the bedside. The doctors were categorical and asked Jean-Pierre’s clan to make a terrible decision: that of unplug and thus avoid therapeutic relentlessness” told the informant.
Before that, Jean-Pierre Pernaut had to deal with the disease on several occasions. In 2018, he had to be absent from the JT of TF1 after revealing that he had prostate cancer.
Unfortunately, if the latter wanted to be reassuring for a few months, Nathalie Marquay announced terrible news: he has lung cancer. It was on that same day in November 2021 that the principal concerned then spoke about it on Twitter, writing: “I learned about this illness last May. I underwent a first operation at the beginning of July. A treatment that continues for a few weeks. […] And if I talk about it, first because you shouldn’t be afraid of cancer. I’ve had a prostate before, you know. I talked about it to improve prevention. Same thing for the lung. I thought it could only happen to other people. For years and years I was told to quit smoking. I didn’t believe it, well I should have stopped. That’s it, I’ll keep you posted, so far so good.”
At the end of January, Jean-Pierre Pernaut tried to be positive in his own way and to reassure the public by assuring our colleagues of the Parisian: “Teverything is fine. The exams are in progress. We cross fingers”. Unfortunately, this time, it is the disease that will have won the battle…
