“There will be a before and an after” assured Sunday, October 13 in the franceinfo Club info Florian Grill, the president of the French Rugby Federation, regarding the indictment for aggravated rape by the Argentinian justice of two players of the XV of France, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou.

“They will obviously be punished if they are convicted [mais] we are not going to condemn them for the third half or the fourth or the fifth because in fact they were not the only ones”said Florian Grill. “The framework was not precise, the framework was even accepted”added the president of the French Rugby Federation. “From now on, there will be financial sanctions, there will be sporting sanctions which could go as far as the expulsion of the French team, temporary or permanent”he assured. “We are in the process of defining this framework, we have held a general meeting, we are going to trigger a reinforced performance plan for French rugby, because everyone understands that healthy lifestyle can be part of performance .”

Florian Grill explains that coach Fabien Galthié also participated in these States General, as did the players’ union or even members of the national rugby league or amateur rugby. “All of us ultimately said in fact there is an emergency that we need to address these issues”reports the president of the FFR. “As early as February I launched a plan on addictions, we are talking about alcohol but we also have the subject of cocaine which is endemic in the country, which is not a rugby problem but which is a problem that we are also confronted, we are not sealed off from society.” As for whether the world of rugby is ready for these changes, Florian Grill decides: “He has no choice.”
