A controversy broke out during a pro-Palestinian demonstration at Sciences Po after a Jewish student was prevented from entering a lecture hall. Léo Le Roux, member of the Sciences Po committee for Palestine, is the guest of 12/13 info, Thursday March 14, to talk about it.

A Jewish student was allegedly banned from entering a Sciences Po Paris lecture hall where a pro-Palestinian demonstration was taking place, because she was considered “Zionist”. Emmanuel Macron denounced anti-Semitic remarks made against him. “The student who was not allowed to return was not allowed to return because, on several occasions, she filmed and posted on social networks, without their consent, people belonging to the Committee or activists visibly pro- Palestinians (…) which led to targeted cyberharassment”explains Léo Le Roux, sociology student, member of the Sciences Po committee for Palestine, guest of 12/13 info, Thursday March 14.

“We strongly condemn anti-Semitism”

Furthermore, the student claims that members of the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) were present at this demonstration. Some witnesses reported anti-Semitic remarks made against the Jewish student. “There were no anti-Semitic remarks, we strongly condemn anti-Semitism within the committee”recalls Léo Le Roux.
