The story tells the daily life of a woman in a working-class neighborhood of Rome, Italy during the post-war period. Mother, subjected to an ultraviolent husband, one day she receives a letter in her name, which will create the trigger and lead her towards her emancipation. On paper, this black and white film about domestic violence did not lend itself to such popular success.

And yet, in a few weeks, It’s ancora domani (There is still tomorrow) has joined the greatest successes of Italian cinema. Five million spectators have already seen it. It will be released in France on March 13. “I am a grandmother of eight grandchildren. I sent them all to see him”laughs a woman at the exit. “In my opinion, we should show it in all schools, to then be able to deepen this discourse”, estimates a young woman. This story hit Italian news in the fall, when a 22-year-old student was killed by her boyfriend of the same age. The story shocked the country.
