“There is progress to be noted” in the management of long Covid, but “they must translate into concrete actions”, notes this Wednesday, November 8 on franceinfo Pauline Oustric, president and co-founder of the Après J20 association. According to a diagnosis published this Wednesday by the Covars (Committee for Monitoring and Anticipation of Health Risks) and submitted to the government, the management of these “hundreds of thousands of people” is insufficient.

“For now, these are still recommendations,” deplores Pauline Oustric, “and we are waiting for the government to put money on the table to transform these recommendations visible to patients”. The president of the association specifies that it is necessary “adapted, multidisciplinary support for communication, prevention, but also research on treatments”. For example, even if long Covid is recognized as a pathology and gives the right to sick leave, “it is often complicated because as it is less known and less well diagnosed, patients often face refusals.”
