“It was Olivier Faure who had the idea on Sunday in an interview on Radio J that we needed to take a big march against anti-Semitism”declared Tuesday, November 7 to franceinfo Philippe Brun socialist deputy for Eure.
Faced with the increase in acts hostile to Jews in France, the President of the Senate Gérard Larcher and the President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet called “all those who recognize themselves in the values of our Republic” to participate on Sunday in a “great civic march” against anti-Semitism.
The initiative was immediately welcomed by the majority, but also by the right and the far right. La France insoumise, for its part, said it was reserving its response, due to the presence of the National Rally. LFI deputy Manuel Bompard declared on franceinfo on Tuesday: “I would find it particularly incongruous to participate in a demonstration of this nature in the presence of the RN.”
At the PS no official decision has been taken for the moment, but according to Philippe Brun, “logic dictates that the Socialist Party should participate, there is no reason why the Socialist Party should not participate”he insisted.
