Myriam Benraad, political scientist and Middle East specialist, is the guest on 19/20 info, Wednesday February 7. It warns, among other things, of the situation in Gaza.
Four months after the Hamas attacks in Israel, a tribute was paid to the French victims on Wednesday February 7. “It happened in Israel, which had never been seen before”, explains Myriam Benraad, political scientist and Middle East specialist, guest of 19/20 info. For her, the fact that civilians were attacked made it “even more shocking”and opinion is extremely polarized on this conflict. “I think that there is an invisibility of a certain number of human realities behind this war”she argues.
Israeli military campaign criticized
Myriam Benraad calls to be “also critical” towards the Israeli government. “We were told over the weeks that the main objective, the priority, was the release of the hostages and gradually, we actually saw the destruction of the Gaza enclave”, she laments. The Middle East specialist says she is critical of the Israeli military campaign. “It is not by destroying all of Gaza that we overcome a movement”she concludes.
