Thomas Ménage, National Rally (RN) deputy for Loiret, is the political guest of 18/20, Monday September 30. He returns in particular to the opening of the trial of the European parliamentary assistants of the National Front.

The trial of the European parliamentary assistants of the National Front opened Monday September 30 before the Paris criminal court. Marine Le Pen and 24 others, as well as the far-right party as a legal entity, are on trial on suspicion of embezzlement of European public funds. Does the National Rally (RN) consider this to be a political trial? “I believe in the justice of my country”replies Thomas Ménage, RN deputy for Loiret, in the 18/20, adding that he does not“hope not” that he “there would be an instrumentalization”.

“There are no fictitious jobs, there is no personal enrichment”assures the RN deputy. “There is a difference of assessment on the role of a parliamentary assistant, with a European vision which would like the parliamentary assistant to be, in fact, at the hands of the Commission, to defend the European project of the Commission, this which is not at all our vision”continues Thomas Ménage. The RN instead considers that “parliamentary assistants are there to defend a political project, to serve their MEP – their only employer – and this is what Marine Le Pen will explain”indicates the deputy.
