The 2025 finance bill notably provides for a reduction of 500 million euros for justice. Kim Reuflet, president of the magistrates’ union, was on the Matinale set on Friday October 11.

The executive is seeking to save 60 billion euros as part of its finance bill for 2025. Among the losers: justice, which sees its budget reduced by 500 million euros. Kim Reuflet, president of the magistrates’ union, deplores “a regression compared to what was voted on last year in the programming law”which forecast 10.7 billion euros for justice in 2025.

According to Kim Reuflet, this budget reduction will impact “all employees of public justice services. (…) There are a lot of costs that can no longer be assumed”. If the budget is up slightly by 110 million euros compared to last year, Kim Reuflet points out a “misleading presentation” compared to the planned budgetary trajectory. “We hear a lot from several members of the government that there is a very strong public expectation of justice, we will not be able to respond to it if we do not put money on the table”she explains.
