“There are 45 of them and…”, Pascal Praud attacks “Bonjour” by Bruce Toussaint

“Pascal Praud reveals himself without filter” : this was the promise of the second part of
Facing Hanouna
the weekend spin-off of Do not touch My TV, always presented by Cyril Hanouna. The host of Time for the pros on Cnews had in fact come to visit his colleague from the sister channel Canal 16. After returning at length to his beginnings on television, notably in the TF1 group with appearances in Téléfoot and on the LCI channel, Pascal Praud looked at his now band leader status.

Present on Cnews from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. then from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., Pascal Praud has indeed been able to cultivate this spirit of a small group of columnists and journalists, something he is satisfied with today: “Why do I love doing what we do? Because we are in a very small preparation structure. The show, in the evening, sometimes has a million viewers. And there are two or three of us preparing it. We has total freedom!” Pascal Praud was initially enthusiastic.

“Someone needs to decide”

But the debate did not take long to deviate to one of the morning shows which had become competing – only from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. – of Time for the prosto know Good morning on TF1. The show presented since January by Bruce Toussaint does not yet attract the crowds – around 260,000 viewers each morning – and Pascal Praud seems to have the ready-made explanation to explain these declining audiences: “There are 45 of them! Everyone gives their opinion. Pascal Chesnais told me that there were 40 of them to debrief after the show. How do you want to work at 40?”, argues the journalist, immediately stating that he appreciates Bruce Toussaint despite everything, even if he never names him openly. And to add: “Being very little involved in the production of the shows helps you. That’s where you find this freedom. People feel and guess this freedom.”

And this argument seems to have found favor with Cyril Hanouna, who did not fail to validate the words of his guest: “I think there are a lot of similarities between politics and television. I think even politicians would benefit from working in small groups. There are 50 of them each time. It’s a Mexican army. Everyone gives his opinion. You can’t move forward. A TV show is the same!”then insists the presenter.

Pascal Praud then revealed his slogan: “In fact, someone needs to decide. I decide in the morning what we do and what we don’t do. I trust my own judgment. You listen to all the news and see what makes you react!” “And the news that you don’t take, you send it to me”, did not fail to reply Cyril Hanouna with humor. Will Bruce Toussaint take inspiration from the advice of his former colleague at i-Télé? Nothing is less sure.
