To put athletes in the best conditions, nothing better than therapy dogs. The practice is growing in sport. Several American teams, in particular, were able to benefit from the unconditional support of dogs before flying to Paris.
The U.S. women’s soccer team was joined by two unexpected teammates: dogs. Emmy and Emma are two golden retrievers. They came for a moment of joy and relaxation just days before the athletes leave for Paris and the Olympic Games.
The American gymnasts also had a visit from another four-legged companion. He had the chance to pose next to the champion, Simone Biles. Using dogs to develop athletes’ skills is an idea with undeniable benefits according to an expert. “There is a physiological benefit, a team cohesion benefit and then a psychological benefit”she explains.
