Théo Curin (Handigang) and his mother cash on the disease: “I have very few memories of before”

There is more than one new challenge in his to do list ! Double vice-world champion in disabled swimming 2017, Theo Curin gearing up for the dreaded Santa Fe-Coronda Aquatic Marathon, Argentina. He will also be on screen, May 2, 2022 at 9 p.m. on TF1, in the TV movie Handi Gangin which he plays Sam, a teenager with a disability who rebels against the inaction of society.

At 22, Théo Curin has learned to live differently. Victim of meningitis at the age of 6, the sportsman escaped thanks to the amputation of his four limbs. Already seen in episodes of More beautiful life or the series Cloakrooms, the budding comedian now gives the reply to Alessandra Sublet. who plays the role of her mother for her acting debut. In real life, the one who fulfills this mission is Stéphanie, 45 years old.

When Théo fell ill, it was so serious that he should have left, she recalls in the columns of the magazine Gala. He was hospitalized for four months. Doctors tried to save his limbs by putting him to sleep three times a week to heal his wounds, removing necrotic skin flaps. In vain. When it was learned that he was going to survive but that there would certainly be serious consequences, all that mattered to me then was that he was still there. This is also why we accepted amputations.
