Kassav’ songs are chants in Creole, a language spoken by less than a million people in the world. Kassav’ also means “small cassava pancake”, in the language. Music that brought together the Antilles, the metropolis and Africa. For the music critic of France Info, Bertrand Dicale, “They don’t just say ‘my darling, you are beautiful’, they will talk about something else, the daily life of the West Indians, that life is expensive, that it is not easy, etc.” Kassav’ invented zouk, an ideal party cocktail.
