Elodie Roy is a mother of three children and manager of a home for the elderly in Abbeville. She has always loved singing and sometimes she pushes the song at weddings or small shows. Her mother-in-law tells her about cast of France Bleu Picardie for the show Goldmen. The group is looking for a singer or a singer for the song There by Jean-Jacques Goldman. But at that moment, Elodie had just come out of several voice extinctions and she is reluctant to apply. Eventually, she films herself singing a snippet of the song.”I had nothing to lose“.
The days pass, Elodie has a little forgot the cast. While in a store to choose paint with her daughter, she receives a phone call. This is Vincent Schneider, the program manager for France Bleu Picardie. Elodie does not make the connection right away. She has won the casting ! The production of the show chose her to ride on the scene with the Goldmen.
For an average person like me to be here is surreal.
the Saturday January 22, Elodie has an appointment at 3 p.m. at the Zenith of Amiens, behind the scenes. On the program: discovery of the Zenith, balance and interview on France Blue Picardy. In the corridors, everything amazes him. It’s the first time she’s seen that side of the room.
She knows the Goldmen for having seen them often on video. Alain Stevez, the singer, has exactly the same voice as Jean-Jacques Goldman on stage. And the musicians who accompany him are extraordinary talents.
After the rehearsal comes the live interview on France Bleu Picardie. “It’s not my daily life. It’s weird to reveal yourself also for someone who is rather introverted and who is like Monsieur and Madame Toutlemonde.” Then Elodie takes her dinner in the catering with the musicians but also the technicians. A moment of relaxation in all simplicity. Then things are accelerating. You have to change, put on make-up, check the order of the songs, take a picture…
A little unexpected when it is necessary to install the headsets with the transmitter: Elodie does not have a belt. But a solution is quickly found. Phew! Elodie only has time to walk around the stage before taking the stairs. Let’s go !
