By 2022, nearly 400,000 young people will be able to benefit from the youth employment contract. Aid of up to 500 euros per month for young people without training and employment.

In a local mission in the Paris region, a dozen young adults want to get by, despite the lack of experience and training. Some of them are financially assisted by the youth guarantee scheme, which provides them with support and nearly 500 euros per month. Unfortunately for thousands of young French people, this device will disappear, and be replaced by a youth employment contract.

The youth employment contract will concern young people aged 16 to 25, unemployed or without training. The allowance paid will be 500 euros and will concern 400,000 young people in 2022. In exchange, participants will have to devote between 15 and 20 hours of their time to job searches or training. “What will be made more flexible is the question of the level of education, the income the young person has when he enters the youth guarantee.“, explains Moncef Jendoubi, director of the local mission on the banks of the Marne. The budget provided for by the State is below what had been planned.
