the yellow jersey Wout Van Aert wins the 5th stage in Chaintré

After two second places, including the infuriating one on Tuesday in Puy-de-Dôme, Wout van Aert won the 5th stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné 2022 in Chaintré, in Saône-et-Loire. The Belgian from Jumbo-Visma won in the sprint against Jordi Meeus and Ethan Hayter, at the end of the 162.3 kilometer race. Wout Van Aert consolidates his leader’s yellow jersey, now 1’03 ahead of the Italian Mattia Cattaneo and 1’06 over his teammate Primoz Roglic.

Wout Van Aert achieved his second success there since the start, four days after winning in the sprint in the inaugural stage in Beauchastel.
