After a World Cup punctuated by two historic defeats against France and New Zealand, Italy resumes its year 2024 with a defeat against England (24-27), but at the end of a much more encouraging performance. The Transalpines even led for more than 40 minutes, thanks to two tries from Alessandro Garbisi (11th) and Allan (26th).
More difficult in the physical challenge during the second act, Paolo Garbisi’s teammates showed themselves to be undisciplined and imprecise, conceding too many penalties in key areas. Opposite, the XV de la Rose is pragmatic, and even regains the advantage thanks to a try from Alex Mitchell (44th). At the end of the match, Italy grabbed the defensive bonus point thanks to a try from Lyon winger Monty Ioane.
