After a World Cup punctuated by two historic beatings against France and New Zealand, Italy resumes its year 2024 with a defeat against England (24-27), but at the end of a much more encouraging performance. The Transalpines even led for forty minutes, thanks to two tries from Alessandro Garbisi (11th) and Tommaso Allan (26th).
More difficult in the physical challenge during the second act, Paolo Garbisi’s teammates showed themselves to be undisciplined and imprecise, conceding too many penalties in key areas. Opposite, the XV de la Rose was pragmatic, and regained the advantage thanks to a try from Alex Mitchell (44th). At the very end of the match, Italy grabbed the defensive bonus point thanks to a try from Lyon winger Monty Ioane.
