In an interview with Parisian last May 25THE President of the Republic said to himself “ready to debate” with Marine le Pen, as part of the European elections which will be held on Sunday June 9. “If we think that this is an election where part of the destiny of France is at stake, which I believe, we must debate”, he declared.
A few minutes later, Marine Le Pen, head of the National Rally, responded favorably to the invitation on the social networkhis resignation or dissolution of the National Assembly”, if the majority party fails in the European elections.
Faced with the hypothesis of this debate, and a few days after that which took place between Jordan Bardella and Gabriel Attal, the right and left oppositions are indignant. For his part, the former Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe is doubtful. According to him, the idea of a debate relaunched by the Head of State would be “surprising” and don’t know if this one will be “necessary”.
