The world is still living under the threat of Covid-19, but the situation varies by country.
In Russia, men in protective suits disinfect a train station, an image reminiscent of those taken in Wuhan, China, during the start of the Covid-19 epidemic. Nearly 41,000 new cases were recorded in 24 hours, while a week of leave was declared in the country in order to calm the spread of the virus. But in Russia, where less than a third of its population is vaccinated, this is not enough. The hospitals are full. The same goes for Romania, where patients are transferred to Germany for treatment.
On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, a surprising observation has been made. In the state of Iowa (United States), nearly 80% of deer are infected with Covid-19, and these are not the only animals to be infected with the virus. Health authorities recommend that hunters wear gloves when handling animals, although no evidence of transmission to humans has been confirmed.
