At the beginning of last month, The Duty published an article by Professor Angelo Soares of UQAM on the work of care. This word, English it goes without saying, seems to be used by people in the health sector and also by several columnists. Moreover, a columnist responded to my criticism of his use of the word care that everyone used it to imply that I had to arrive in town one day and become a bit anglicized to make myself more innocent or to be of my century.
Okay, I don’t live in the big city. Is it the big city that determines what is said and written or what should be?
I find it a bit easy and lazy to borrow English words without worrying that there are French words available to us, provided of course that we like our language.
Finally, a question for lovers of care : do you want to make it sound French when pronouncing it? because (like the conjunction “because”) or you want to completely anglicize the pronunciation, which amounts to pronouncing quest ?
It’s up to you to answer!
