“The work is progressing on a disruptive program”assured Monday June 10 on franceinfo Eric Coquerel, outgoing Insoumis deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis, while the various left-wing parties are calling for “the constitution of a new popular front” and to “unique applications from the first round” early legislative elections.

“There is only a disruptive program that can prevent the National Rally from winning this election”, asserts Eric Coquerel. The parties have “agreed” on “a strategy”. “We talk about Popular Union. Popular Front suits us very well as another termadmits the Insoumis. This is what the left forces are agreeing on. It can be a historic moment for the country, because it puts us in the capacity to govern, to be in the majority in a month.”

Eric Coquerel insists on this “historic moment” : “For the first time in the history of the Republic, a far-right party is able to take the majority in this country at the polls. So the moment is extremely dramatic.” He emphasizes that in “Europe is the same. So it’s in France that we must stop them”.

The former rebellious MP believes that Emmanuel Macron “will be unable to stop him. He will not be in the majority, he has no capacity to be in the majority with his camp at the end of the month“. According to him, “only the left” can counter the RN, “but it can only do it if it is on a program of rupture. This is the great lesson, for several years, of the left which is back in this country thanks to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, thanks to the results of the Nupes”. “If all this is transformed, is done through a name which is the Popular Front, I say banco, that’s what is at stake”adds Eric Coquerel.
