The wool route with the Terrade spinning mill in “Route 23”.

Since 1913, the Terrade spinning mill has been an artisanal company specializing in the spinning and dyeing of carded wool. The spinning mill transforms the raw wool into spools to make rugs, carpets, hosiery and threads which will also be used in the making of tapestries. Established in Felletin, the company shines in its sector, it is today the pride of the wool industry here in the department.

We will wash the wool, then it is scarf to give it more flexibility, then it goes through a machine which gives it its elasticity: the carding machine. After all these steps, the wool is dyed with chemical or natural pigments to give it all its shine and a variety of amazing colors.

Quality at the heart of the wool industry.

The natural wool fibers of the Terrade de Felletin spinning mill have the full attention of the Lainamac association, which is committed to promoting the tradition of the sector in the Creuse.

“Route 23” is on France Bleu Creuse at 7:16 am and 4:50 pm in the company of Agnès Florentin from the Aubusson Felletin tourist office at the microphone of Bernard Adam
