The woman knocked down by her partner in Haut-Rhin is dead

Hospitalized in serious condition on Friday May 17 after being hit by her partner in a car in Riedisheim (Haut-Rhin), the young 23-year-old woman, pregnant, died during the night from Saturday to Sunday. The suspect was subject to a removal order after being imprisoned in April.

She was hospitalized with multiple traumas on Friday in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin), after being deliberately hit by her partner by car in Riedisheim. She died on Saturday evening, we learned from the Mulhouse prosecutor’s office, confirming information from a police source. The victim was pregnant.

The 42-year-old suspect was also banned from having contact with the victim, after being imprisoned last April for acts of violence. He was brought before the courts, after being held in police custody for 24 hours at the Mulhouse police station.

The national police were notified on Friday May 17, shortly after 9:30 p.m. Two witnesses present on site when the police arrived reported that the victim had a dispute with a man, according to our source. The man in question then allegedly asked the victim to get out of the vehicle, before walking away and then returning to hit her. Some time later, while the police had established a security perimeter and were carrying out the usual checks, a black vehicle approached the area.

“The driver, clearly drunk, refused to submit to a drug test and was aggressive, tells our source. He eventually admitted to having had an argument with the victim.”

An investigation was opened by the Haut-Rhin public prosecutor’s office for attempted intentional homicide.
