An institutional asset manager has just reduced its exposure to CAE while the shares of the Montreal flight simulator manufacturer are having a good year on the stock market.

Mackenzie sold just over 1.7 million shares during the month of August, according to a document filed this month with stock exchange authorities. Although the price obtained during the sale and the exact dates of the transactions are not specified, the shares sold have a value in excess of $50 million.

The transactions reduced Mackenzie’s stake in CAE below 10% to start the month of September. Mackenzie is therefore no longer required to disclose its transactions in CAE shares, unless its stake increases to 10% or more. CAE’s stock hit a 52-week high this month and is up 22% this year.

A founder ofAlimentation Couche-Tard has just sold $14.5 million worth of shares in the Laval convenience store chain. Richard Fortin sold a total of 200,000 shares during the sessions of September 12 and 13. Transactions were made at prices ranging between $72 and $73. He directly owned the majority of the shares sold. However, 50,000 of the 200,000 shares sold were held by the Lise and Richard Fortin foundation. The latter is still a member of the board of directors of Couche-Tard and remains one of the largest shareholders.

The Laval pharmaceutical company Bausch Health received the support of the American firm Jefferies in the middle of the week. Analyst Glen Santagelo has recommended buying the stock since Wednesday. Its target of US$9 over a 12-month horizon is now US$16. Bausch Health shares rose 8% on Wednesday.

The Chief Financial Officer of NanoXplore has just purchased shares of the Montreal graphene producer. Pedro Azevedo purchased a block of 5,000 shares on September 15. He paid a unit price of $2.93. He became head of finance at NanoXplore last year.

A member of the board of directors of Dollarama has just sold nearly $200,000 in shares of the Montreal low-cost retailer. John Huw Thomas sold a block of 2,000 shares on September 15 at a unit price of $96.28. He has been a member of the Dollarama board of directors since 2011.

Now that the title of the Laurentian Bank fell sharply with the announced result of the review of strategic options, the dividend yield once again exceeds the 6% mark.
