The Fantasia International Fantastic Film Festival is not over yet, but the winners of the 26e edition has already been unveiled.

It’s the Belgian movie Megalomaniacby Karim Ouelhaj, who won the Prix Cheval Noir for best film this year, a film inspired by the horrific true story of the “butcher of Mons” who murdered five women between 1996 and 1997. Best Actress went to Eline Schumacher for Megalomaniac. The Black Horse for best director is awarded to the South Korean July Jung for Next Sohee which will be presented at the end of the festival on August 3, in the presence of the director.
French composer Alexandre Desplats wins the award for best soundtrack for the film Cut!.
In the international short film category, the prize for best actress was awarded to Quebec actress Marie-France Marcotte in Waspand the special mention of the jury to the short film blackbear, by Canadian director Bryce Hodgson.
The 26e edition of the Fantasia festival takes place until August 3, indoors, in Montreal.
