It was a long night for the twenty passengers on a Blablacar bus. After midnight this Sunday, October 23, 2022, a bus rubbed a guardrail on the A7 motorway at Chantemerle-les-Blés while traveling in the South-North direction. It also hit the pile of a bridge. Consequence: the window of the bus broke on the right side. The vehicle was damaged so the driver pulled over on the hard shoulder. There were no injuries. The passengers got out of the bus while the driver checked the damage with the EDSR gendarmes.
Eventually the bus was escorted to the next rest area to let the occupants catch another bus. Did the driver doze off at the wheel? At this stage, the gendarmes cannot certify it. There were, according to them, two drivers who could take turns in the vehicle. In addition, the driver was not alcoholic or under the influence of narcotics according to the screening tests carried out by the gendarmes.
During the night, travelers were able to take another bus.
