the whole of France affected by the fifth wave

The pressure of the fifth wave is falling on all French hospitals. “This health pressure is reflected in a figure recalled by the Minister of Health: a person goes into intensive care every six minutes. It was every ten minutes there is still a week”, recalls journalist Anthony Jolly, live from the Ministry of Health for France 3.

Thanks to the effects of vaccination, this figure is three times lower than the peak reached during the health crisis. But the journalist points out: the context has changed compared to previous waves. “At the time, some little-affected departments were able to accommodate patients from regions that were saturated such as the Grand Est for example”. The difference with the current wave: the whole territory is affected, no region seems spared, making transfers difficult.
