“Le Temps d’aimer”, which is released in theaters on Wednesday November 29, tells the life of an unlikely couple, played by actors Anaïs Demoustier and Vincent Lacoste, during the post-war period.

Friends in life and partners on screen, actors Anaïs Demoustier and Vincent Lacoste attended the preview of their new film in Paris, “Le Temps d’aimer”, before its theatrical release on Wednesday November 29. The fresco traces the life of an unlikely couple over 20 years. “These are people who learn to love each other, and who will save each other a little, and invent their own form of love, without necessarily sharing the same sexuality”says Vincent Lacoste.

A child with a German soldier

The weight of secrecy is at the heart of the film. Madeleine had a child with a German soldier. Shame prevents him from admitting it to his son. Like many women at the liberation, she was shorn and marked with a swastika, a victim of popular vindictiveness. The director, Katell Quillévéré, says she was inspired by the story of her own grandmother.
