the war in Spain seen by Simone Veil, Fauve prize at the Angoulême comic book festival

First is the publication of the book Colonne by Adrien Bosc (ed. Stock). This retraces, by two opposite trajectories, the war in Spain. On the one hand, Simone Veil who went to this country at the age of 25, in 1936. On the other, that of Georges Bernanos. This book is therefore structured in two parts. The first is based on 34 sheets taken from a notebook Moleskine in which Simone Veil scribbled the memories of this epic that she lived “alongside communist and anarchist rebels“. The second, on Georges Bernanos, Catholic writer, supporter of Franco’s early days.”Through these two faces, we realize that they are both equally disillusioned“, summarizes Anne-Marie Revol.

On the occasion of the 49th International Comic Strip Festival of Angoulême (Charente), France Télévisions will be able to award the Fauve prize, since it is a partner of the event. For the occasion, eight works including Alerte 5, the American or even Under the pebbles the beach, were pre-selected by a jury of journalists. And it is a jury of eight viewers who will have to decide the selection on March 19. The festival will take place from March 17 to 20.
