The rescue center

The fire station houses a first response center. It is led by Lieutenant David Bugesassisted by Denis Bardel and Romain Barili. This center has 16 volunteer firefighters. David Buges has been head of center for 3 years. The center has 3 vehicles, a water truck carrying 10,000 liters of water, a vehicle for various interventions and a small fire engine. The emergency center carries out an average of 80 interventions per year.

In rural areas, there is a lack of volunteers and this throughout the Puy de Dôme, as underlined Jean-Francois Barili , president of the departmental union of firefighters of Puy-de-Dôme. It is especially during the day that it is difficult to find available people.

How to become a volunteer firefighter? All you need is 180 hours of training over the first 3 years: 90 hours of training on first aid and then fire training. There is also the possibility of being a volunteer firefighter just for personal rescue, which represents 85% of interventions. If you are interested, go see the heads of centers in your municipality for more information.

25 years ago, Edwige and Bernard Bouleau signed the purchase of this oil mill. The manufacture of walnut oil is an ancestral recipe dating back to 1857. The only difference is the engine which replaced the horse. 11 varieties of oil are now made in Blot l’Eglise.

The artisanal oil mill of Blot l’Eglise is one of the last in Auvergne. 5 people work there. We manufacture with a stone wheel.

The production takes place in 5 stages:

  • the choice of fruit
  • crushing fruits and seeds
  • heating the dough in a cast iron skillet
  • pressing
  • decantation

The Boutique Workshop of the Artisanal Oil Mill in Blot is open to the public: Tuesday to Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

blue ponies

Blue like the dream and favorite color of Pénélope Lamérys. She directs Les Ponies Bleus, an equestrian center focused on leisure riding.

Pénélope teaches nature to children through horseback riding. Equestrian activity offers the possibility of disconnecting from everyday life to better reconnect with oneself. We are more about the relationship with the horse than the competition. It is through respect, patience and curiosity that riding on horses and ponies that it teaches these essential values.
