The leaders of the VRDR formalized the departure of ten players on Wednesday evening on our antenna during the special program devoted to the results of the season and the objectives for the 2nd season that they are about to play in National. Ten players will no longer wear the club jersey during the 2022-2023 season: Jody Jenneker, the South African hooker puts an end to his careeras well as the winger Dug Codjo. The 3rd line Pieter-Jan Van Lill will join a Federal 2 club in the south-west of France to continue his training as a dentist.
Mathieu Lorée in Nice, Luke Price back in Wales
Mathieu Lorée, 34, with the club since 2019 and who has played 46 matches under the colors of the VRDR, will join the Stade Niçois where he will therefore evolve in National. Flyhalf Luke Price, whose kicking stats are well below expectations, is also on the way. He should in all likelihood return to his country of origin. The right pillar Giorgi Kakauridze and the center three-quarter Alaska Taufa are also on the start, finally the 3rd line Steven David signed up with Nevers in Pro D2 for the next two seasons.
An expected Pro D2 hooker
On the arrivals side, two players have already given their agreement to the Drôme club for next season. A Pro D2 hooker and a three-quarter center who would arrive from a National club. The staff of the Damiers is still looking for, at a minimum, an opening half, a right pillar and a number 8 to complete its recruitment before the resumption of training set for July 4 next.

The VRDR will play two preparation matches in August before the resumption of the championship in September. The Damiers will play in Chambéry on the weekend of August 13-14 and a week later, they will face the club of Oyonnax, in Ain or at their place of training.
