Sunday, June 19, several duels will oppose RN candidates to Nupes, during the second round of the legislative elections. The presidential majority does not know for which candidate to give a voting instruction.
The Nupes (New Popular, Ecological and Social Union) and the National Rally will oppose each other in 59 constituencies during the second round of the legislative elections on Sunday 19 June. The candidates of La République en Marche, of the presidential majority, sometimes have difficulty giving their voting instructions. “A candidate like Mr. Ruffin, who is, once again, an insurrectionary candidate, extremely violent in his remarks, is not a good chic candidate, good kind”believes Pascal Rifflart, candidate Together!, eliminated in the 1st constituency of the Somme.
Some of his voters will vote all the same for the candidate Nupes, in order to prevent the RN from passing. “If Macron does not want me to pass, it is logical. Because I will fight day and night (…) against Macron, against his retirement at 65”, says François Ruffin, Nupes candidate for the 1st constituency of the Somme. For the RN candidate, the call not to choose is a pleasant surprise. “He did not call directly to vote Mr. Ruffin, so somewhere, he leaves the field open”says Nathalie Ribeoiro-Billet, RN candidate for the constituency.
