In the coming weeks, the Government will have to pass its budget. A file that promises to be complicated because the opposition will not give gifts to the majority.

In the midst of the energy crisis, another major issue awaits the Government in the coming weeks: voting on the budget. And the oppositions have no intention of making it easy for him. Behind the scenes, the Government is doing everything to avoid resorting to 49.3 and this is divisive. “For a President who advocates appeasement, it would not be terrible”launches a deputy of the majority while “we must trivialize the potential use of 49.3”advances a framework of the majority.

To avoid getting there, the Minister of Action and Public Accounts, Gabriel Attal, brought together the opposition at Bercy to discuss the budget upstream. A way to weigh on them a possible blockage. But faced with the possible use of 49.3, will the oppositions unite against the Government? Unlikely so far. “It would be riskyasserts a PS official. In this case, the only winner would be the far right.” And it is on a disunity of the oppositions that the majority puts. “What we need are not votes for, it is abstentions”, confides a Renaissance deputy. This text will be studied at the end of September in the Council of Ministers.
