TF1 Launches Exciting New Seasons of “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Voice”
TF1 has officially kicked off the 14th seasons of two beloved shows, “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Voice.” The casting for “Dancing with the Stars” has attracted a lot of buzz, while “The Voice” has brought back the legendary Florent Pagny, alongside two fresh faces in the coaching lineup: Zaz and Patricia Kaas. These four mentors took part in the initial blind auditions, which were filmed in the fall of 2024 and will air on Saturday nights during prime time. Among the talents showcased, one contestant notably concealed her pregnancy, which became a point of interest in the fourth episode that aired on February 22.
Levon’s Standout Performance and Emilio Amico’s Journey
One contestant, Levon, wowed all four coaches with his rendition of France Gall’s classic “Evidemment,” earning a turn from each mentor. Social media exploded with praise for his impressive performance following the broadcast. Levon shared his journey on the tele-crochet stage, reflecting on his past attempts to compete in 2016 and 2020, admitting he wasn’t quite ready back then. He isn’t alone in this; Emilio Amico also faced challenges in his earlier auditions.
Emilio, hailing from La Louvière in Belgium, previously auditioned for the Belgian version of the show in 2017, where he received interest from the coaches—except for the duo Bigflo & Oli, who opted not to turn for him despite his strong interpretation of Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball.” Now 24 and a tourism student, Emilio reminisced about his experience with Télé Loisirs, recalling his elimination just before the finals. He discussed how his “unique and identifiable voice” was compared to that of a woman by Bigflo & Oli. While he wasn’t offended, he acknowledged it wasn’t something a 16-year-old boy typically wants to hear. Over time, he has embraced this distinctive voice as a significant advantage in his performances.
In this new season of “The Voice” in France, Emilio took a bold step by covering Kim Wilde’s “Cambodia.” This time, he received recognition from three of the coaches: Zaz, Patricia Kaas, and Florent Pagny. Ultimately, Florent persuaded Emilio to join his team, noting he initially thought he was hearing a female singer before pressing the buzzer. Emilio compared his experiences on the French and Belgian versions of the show, highlighting the differences in budget and production. He noted that while the stakes are much higher in 2025 due to the show’s vast exposure, his journey has been incredibly rewarding.
