Saturday, April 30, 2022 in The Voice, the cross-battles continued. As for the first part, each coach had to choose one of his Talents so that he could compete on the title of his choice against that of another coach. It is the public present on the set who then designated the winner of each battle and thus definitively eliminated the loser from the adventure. The selected candidates now have an appointment for the super-cross battles. Last step before the live!
Jerome in front of Louise
Marc Lavoine took the lead to launch this new evening of cross-battles. He sent Jérôme onto the stage, who had to face Louise from the Vianney team. Jérôme is a bit of a joker of the season. His blind audition had surprised many but had nevertheless seduced Marc Lavoine. He had managed to show more seriousness during the battles, revealing a new side of him, more moving. He sang Doctor by Claude Nougaro. By keeping his natural humor, he remained fair and surprised the coaches with his great interpretation. Louise has for her part always convinced by her talent. To stand out, she played the card of emotion accompanied by her piano on the title Could it be magic by Donna Summer. Two radically different performances. The public voted to keep Louise at 74%. She is qualified for the super cross-battles and Jérôme is eliminated.
Amber facing Gautier
Florent Pagny challenged the Vianney team with Ambre, who found themselves facing Gautier. The first sang The world is stone by Fabienne Thibeault, a technically very difficult song that she managed to appropriate despite a difficult start marked by a few false notes. Gautier, for his part, performed on Conceived by John Lennon, which greatly pleased his coach. “He will make me cry“, he let go at the end of his performance. The public voted to keep Gautier at 52%. He is qualified for the super cross-battles and Amber is eliminated.
Cherine facing Mister Mat
Amel Bent trusted Chérine to face Mister Mat from the Vianney team. The sparkling Canadian has embarked on Break My Heart by Dua Lipa, offering a rhythmic and very atmospheric show that made her coach get up to dance. Mister Mat has meanwhile taken the bet to take over the tube Married by Johnny Hallyday in a version of his own. Simply accompanied by his guitar, he delivered an acoustic performance highlighting his very low tone which has nothing to do with the original and which was unanimously acclaimed. The public voted to keep Mister Mat at 68.2%. He is qualified for the super cross-battles and Chérine is eliminated.
Apie in front of Lou
It was then Apie, from Marc Lavoine’s team, who was called to go on stage. She measured herself against the talent of Lou, in Florent Pagny’s team. Apie performed padam padam by Edith Piaf. A register that sticks to her skin as her voice sounds like that of the famous singer. Lou showed great vocal power right after on the title Never Tear Us Apart by INXS. Usually rather weak in terms of accuracy, the young teenager of only 17 years old did not miss any note this time! The public voted to keep Lou at 68.4%. She qualifies for the Super Cross-Battles and Apie is eliminated.
Emily facing Loris
Vianney sent Émilie into the arena to rub shoulders with Loris in Marc Lavoine’s team. It’s a funny battle that has formed there because the two candidates have changed teams along the way. Émilie was initially coached by Florent Pagny but during the battles, after being eliminated, she was fished out by Vianney. As for Loris, he hadn’t even managed to pass the blind auditions, but the very special power of Nolwenn Leroy finally allowed him to continue the adventure within Marc Lavoine’s team. Émilie was the first to sing the difficult and very technical title Wicked Games by Chris Isaac. Loris, who we remember has only been singing for a few months, then took over the very last single from Stromae, Hell. Both proved that they had not stolen their place in the adventure! The public voted to keep Loris at 74.7%. He is qualified for the super cross-battles and Émilie is eliminated.
Matteo facing Madeline
Amel Bent continued the evening by challenging his talent Matteo against a candidate from Marc Lavoine’s team, namely Madeline. Two singers with a lot of sensitivity who have taken up two titles from French song. Matteo sang softly Do not go by Elsa Lunghini. The magic worked for all the coaches who found it very touching. His coach Amel, in particular, had tears in his eyes. “You have awakened in me heartaches as old as the world, you have a magic power“, she addressed to him. Madeline, always so hypnotizing, for her part shone on stage with Who killed Grandma? by Michel Polnareff. The public voted to keep Matteo at 65.2%. He qualifies for the super cross-battles and Madeline is eliminated.
Sonia facing Lea
There was only one talent left in Florent Pagny’s team and it was Sonia. She found herself facing Léa, the last candidate at Marc Lavoine who had been drafted by the latter after being eliminated from the team of Amel Bent. Sonia delivered a powerful performance on Write the story by Gregory Lemarchal. The young 17-year-old candidate made Florent Pagny very proud, who was amazed by her voice and her great mastery. “You really are a super warrior, what are you sending! That’s wonderful !“, he judged. Then it was Léa’s turn. The pretty brunette sang In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins and captivated his audience. The public voted to keep Sonia at 73.1%. She is qualified for the super cross-battles and Léa is eliminated.
Mary facing Axel
And there were only two left. Amel Bent and Vianney found themselves face to face to close these emotion-filled cross-battles. The singer only had to send the young Mary on stage, who measured herself against Axel. The latter was impeccable in taking over Arcade by Duncan Laurence. He managed to pass all the notes brilliantly, even the highest ones. Mary did not let herself be defeated while singing Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston. The public voted to keep Mary at 52.3%. She is qualified for the super cross-battles and Axel is eliminated.
