the violent footballer with animals has just been punished… and it’s tough!

This is probably one of the most talked about sports-related news after Senegal’s victory in the CAN 2022 final in recent days. It all started when The Sun published a video of Kurt Zouma filmed by his brother mistreating one of his cats. The violence of this video broke the hearts of many Internet users who saw red.

Knowing that animal abuse is taken very seriously in the United Kingdom, justice took hold of the case linked to the French international. Hours after the shocking publication was released, the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) commented on the case saying: “this truly moving video. It is never acceptable to kick, hit or slap an animal, in punishment or otherwise. We are very grateful to those who report suspected animal suffering to us and want to reassure them that we will always review and, if necessary, investigate any animal welfare complaints brought to us.”

For his part, Kurt Zouma quickly took the floor on his social networks to apologize. “There is no excuse for my behavior, which I sincerely regret. I also want to say how sorry I am to anyone who was upset by this video. I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy. They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behavior was an isolated incident that will not happen again.” said the 27-year-old player.

But that did not calm things down as West Ham sanctioned the sportsman. Thus, as confirmed The Sun and the DailyMirror and The TimesKurt Zouma received a fine of approximately 300,000 or the equivalent of two weeks’ salary this Wednesday, February 9, 2022. But that’s not all! The British association also confirmed in a press release that his animals had been taken from him.

Both cats are now treated by the RSPCA. Our priority is and has always been the well-being of these cats, said the English association in a press release quoted by Sky Sports. They have been taken to a veterinarian for a medical examination and they will remain in our custody while the investigation continues. We are grateful to everyone who has expressed concern for these cats. We were discussing this issue before the video went viral online and we investigated. We are continuing to investigate so cannot comment at this time.t” we could read. The French defender has not yet reacted to all this.
