In a few days, Marianne Leleu, a former employee of Vinted, very followed on social networks, receives hundreds of calls for help from users of the Vinted platform, number one in France for second-hand clothes. Many accounts were hacked and money from clothing sales, stored on the site, was stolen. “It goes from 100 euros at least up to 800, 900 euros (…), there are a lot of users, we are talking about several hundred accounts concerned“, she asserts.

Vinted promises to compensate the victims

The hackers enter the Vinted account, change the password and the RIB and pay the money contained in the kitty into their own bank account. “I blame Vinted because it’s not secure enough after all“, says a victim. The platform, however, denies having leaked the data of its customers and promises to compensate users who have lost money.
