Only a few days left before the start of the Route du Rhum! The 138 sailors will set off on November 6, heading for Guadeloupe. In the meantime, their boats are welcomed in the port of Saint-Malo. And starting this Tuesday, the village opens its doors to you
. In particular, you will be able to admire the boats competing for the famous solo transatlantic race.

13 days of celebration

The 70,000 m² bringing together 300 exhibitors arranged around the Vauban basin will be open to the public, this Tuesday, October 25, from 2 p.m. until the day of departure, November 6 at 5 p.m..
Among the appointments, friday october 28from 9 a.m., a sustainable development day. A big free concert is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. with the Malouin artist Broken Back on the Main Stage in the heart of the village. Sunday October 30between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., you can attend the presentation of the skippers on the big stage of the village.

A 40 m panoramic Ferris wheel was also installed near the new entrance on the Rocabey side. You can also visit an Imoca at the quay.

For this new edition, the Ultims or “sea giants” join the rest of the fleet in the Vauban and Duguay-Trouin basins. As a result, all the boats will thus be grouped together along the emblematic quays of the race, at the foot of Intra-Muros and the Palais du Grand Large.

Falkland parades to see the boats

Throughout this first week of opening, the village will also be animated by the evolution of the boats apart from the single day of departure. In front of the ramparts of the City of Saint-Malo, each class will have a dedicated day to parade, in order to introduce the entire fleet to the general public
. A strong week that will add to the atmosphere of this period and the effervescence that characterizes it. On arrival, the competitors will also find this parade format with the incredible panorama of the Guadeloupe Islands as a backdrop. Free bleachers will be set up to allow you to come and watch the show.

Friday, November 4between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., exit from the Ultims basins. France Bleu and France 3 will offer you a special digital program between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to follow the exit of the locks of these giants of the seas.

Saturday November 5, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., release of Multi Rum and Mono Rum. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., exit from the Ocean Fifty basins, then exit from the Imoca.

Sunday November 6between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., exit of the Class40s.

How to get to and park in the village of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe?

By train : Paris / Saint-Malo link: TGV Paris – Rennes (≈ 1h30), then TER connection from Rennes (≈ 1h). By TER
the schedules have been modified to allow returns until 10:30 p.m.

By the road : from Rennes, RD 137. From Paris, motorway A11 (417km) or A13 (403km).

To park near the village : light vehicle parking lots
(P1) at the Féval racecourse and at Paramé (P2) with a total of 3800 places. Cost of Parking: seven euros per day, payable at the entrance to the parking lot. Every 15 minutes, free shuttles are available to the public to get to the village from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
