The village of Cauterets, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, is isolated from the rest of the valley towards Pierrefitte-Nestalas, due to landslides on the road, indicates France Bleu Béarn Bigorre. There is no longer any telephone or internet.

The bad weather caused three successive landslides on the D920 which connects Cauterets to Pierrefitte-Nestalas. The services of the department started to clear the road, but they stopped because of the night. The spa resort of Cauterets is therefore completely isolated on Friday, December 10 in the evening. Track clearance will resume this Saturday morning.

The first landslide was completely cleared this Friday around 5 p.m. The second, much larger, stretches 4 meters high and about sixty meters long. It still blocks access to the station. It is the third landslide, located closest to the station, which is the most important (7 to 8 meters in height, depending on the departmental services).

The Cauterets emergency center has been strengthened to provide medical emergencies, in conjunction with the pharmacy, the doctor and the nurses present in the town, indicates the prefecture. A person on dialysis was evacuated by the emergency services with the support of the gendarmerie helicopter.
