The Minnesota Vikings posted the biggest comeback in NFL history on Saturday, as they trailed the Indianapolis Colts by 33 points at halftime. The home favorites won the game 39-36 thanks to a goal with seven seconds left in overtime at US Bank Stadium.

The old record belonged to the Buffalo Bills, who in 1993, in a playoff game against the Houston Oilers, completed a 32-point comeback.
The Colts led 33-0 on the halftime kickoff, and 36-7 with 4:53 to go in the third quarter. In turn, KJ Osburn, CJ Ham, Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook scored touchdowns, the latter on a long 64-yard run. The two-point conversion allowed the home side to close that seemingly insurmountable gap and move the game into overtime.
Everything seemed so easy for the Colts in the first half, Indianapolis quarterback Matt Ryan was doing what he wanted with the Vikings’ defense, which was struggling to limit long plays. This allowed the Colts to temporarily take shelter before returning to the locker room. The visitors notably brought back into the paying zone a kick blocked by Ryan Wright. Four placements were also successful by Chase McLaughlin.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins finished the game completing 34 passes for 460 yards. His favorite target from the air was receiver KJ Osburn, who had 157 yards. His vis-à-vis, Matt Ryan, concluded his meeting with 183 passing yards.
With this result, the Vikings secured first place in the North Division of the National Association. The latter only needed a win or a draw on Saturday.
