The Vésubie valley in the Alpes-Maritimes affected by floods, residents evacuated and bridges washed away

The village of Saint-Martin-Vésubie, already affected by floods in 2020 and 2023, is notably one of the villages affected by these bad weather.

The Vésubie valley, in the Alpes-Maritimes, was hit on Monday evening, June 24 by “important precipitation” which caused floods and floods, according to the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin. “Bridges have been washed away, several homes evacuated. The authorities and emergency services are fully mobilized”wrote the minister on.

The village of Saint-Martin-Vésubie, already affected by flooding in 2020 during the passage of storm Alex and then in 2023 with storm Aline, is notably one of the villages which are experiencing this bad weather. “Support for the inhabitants of my village of Saint-Martin-Vésubie once again affected by severe bad weather”, said Eric Ciotti, deputy for Alpes-Maritimes, on X.

According to France Bleu Azur, around fifty people are stranded in the Boréon sector, around ten kilometers from Saint-Martin-Vésubie. Renaud Muselier, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, said he followed “pay attention to the situation in Vésubie”.
